Why Choose Buffalo Dental Group for Restorative Dentistry?

What if I Do Nothing?

Unlike other parts of your body, your teeth actually can’t heal themselves once they’ve been damaged. An untreated cavity will only grow larger, and weakened enamel will inevitably fracture altogether, both leading to more pain and dysfunction. Rather than wait for a small problem to become worse, we always recommend seeking out restorative treatment at the earliest signs of an issue. This enables our team to save as much of the natural teeth as possible.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a type of restoration that works by fitting over and fully encapsulating a tooth. This not only protects the enamel from further damage, but it also helps us repair the tooth and bring back its original look and strength. We only recommend crowns for the most extreme circumstances, such as large cavities, extremely broken teeth, and some root canal treated teeth. Here, our crowns are always custom-made for each patient to ensure the best fit and most lifelike appearance possible.

Inlays/Onlays

inlays

Inlays and onlays are sometimes referred to as “partial crowns,” and they are a central part of how we repair teeth at The Buffalo Dental Group. Full crowns require a tooth to be filed down in order to support the restoration, meaning that healthy dental structure often has to be sacrificed. With inlays/onlays, however, we can simply repair the damaged portion of a tooth and leave the rest untouched. These restorations are typically made of 100% porcelain and can be designed to fit onto the enamel to instantly fix any decay or trauma.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Cavities are extremely common, but thankfully, we have a quick, easy, and minimally invasive solution that only takes one appointment to get. Instead of dark gray metal, tooth-colored fillings are made of a composite resin we can perfectly match to any patient’s enamel. This ensures that the restoration will seamlessly blend into the smile. Plus, the resin allows us to place smaller, more conservative fillings that leave more natural dental structure intact, meaning the repaired tooth is guaranteed to be stronger and last longer.

One-Visit Restorations with CEREC

In the past, repairing a tooth with a crown or inlay/onlay use to require at least two appointments, an unreliable temporary restoration, and a yucky impression using dental putty. CEREC instantly solves all of these problems! Using advanced CAD/CAM technology, we can prepare a tooth, digitally scan it, and create the perfect crown all in a single streamlined appointment. Our minimally invasive philosophy not only applies to our patients’ teeth, but their time as well!
